Beautiful, deep, tawny Hessonite Garnet.  Known as cinnamon stone in Africa, because of its golden brown colour, it's got gold, orange and reddish brown tones in it, and it does indeed conjure up warm and spicy images. These stones have a misty, silky lustre, a result of the characteristic swirling inclusions.
