Rare and desirable, these slices demonstrate better than anything the different tones and colours of tourmaline that can occur in a single crystal. Classically, this refers to those slices that demonstrate the colours of a water melon; the dark green of the skin, the white of the rind and the pink of the flesh, but I am using this as a catch-all term to describe bi- and tri-colour slices in all colours. These are uncalibrated, unique stones and come in a variety of shapes, sizes and weights.
