Orange moonstone, otherwise known as peach or pink moonstone covers anything from beige to pink to honey to orange tones. It's a variety of feldspar; a species of stone valued for its optical effects. Stones are often described as having a schiller, opalescence or adularesecence; the shimmering effect that sits just below the surface of the stones. It's the way that the light refracts off the layered nature of this stone that creates these effects, and in the orange moonstone this is most commonly a white schiller, as if the stone is lit from within. The stones in this section tend towards a deep orange in the larger sizes and a lighter pink in the smaller sizes. It's a lovely stone that goes very well with pearls and looks great in both white and yellow metals.
